WatchTime New York 2021 is fast approaching, returning for the sixth time to Midtown Manhattan’s Gotham Hall on October 22-24. Of the more than 25 participating watch brands set to display their latest timepieces, we are particularly excited to see Replica Bell & Ross, which this year is presenting its latest distinctive take on a travel watch, the new BR 03-93 GMT.
The BR 03-93 GMT was unveiled in the spring of this year, part of a succession of notable launches that also included the BR 03-92 Diver Red Bronze and BR 05 Skeleton Nightlum, among others. The watch features Bell & Ross’s famed circle-in-a-square silhouette and it represents, importantly, the first time the brand has applied a 24-hour bidirectional GMT bezel to this style; the BR V2-93 GMT, launched in 2018, used a more traditional rounded case and the original BR 03-93 GMT from 2016 was similar in design but with a fixed bezel (both pictured below).
Speaking of the case, its square dimensions measure 42 mm by 42 mm in diameter and 11.3 mm thick, with polished edges highlighting an otherwise brushed finish. Overall, the watch is robust and aviation-inspired, with some signature Bell & Ross details. The case notably includes four screws at each of its corners, a knurled crown, and a wide calfskin strap securing the timepiece to the wrist, altogether making for a true “ready-for-anything” style. Topping the case is, of course, the fake watch’s most significant feature, its red-and-black bidirectional bezel, an element that adds both travel functionality and a striking look.
A familiar Bell & Ross dial configuration rests under the case’s sapphire crystal, its design highly legible and straightforward. Around the outer edge, a curved white minute ring provides an outline to the deep black dial, with its lume-filled markers, large Arabic quarter-hour positions, and prominent handset. The dial additionally features a subtle 4:30 date window, in addition to a red-accented arrow pointer used to indicate a second time zone.
Inside the watch’s four-sided case ticks Bell & Ross’s BR-CAL.303, which is based upon the ETA 2893-2. The brand-modified caliber features a power reserve of 42 hours and a frequency of 28,800 vph, in addition to a hacking seconds mechanism and an independently operated GMT hand.
